Heinz Sielmann Nature Experience Centre at Herbigshagen Manor near Duderstadt.
The focal points of the nature experience centre's work are characterised by regional features, which is also reflected in the nature experience programme "Days full of diversity". Visitors can also go on a voyage of discovery at Gut Herbigshagen and explore the local flora and fauna or the numerous experience stations: an interactive nature trail with a farmer's garden, bee house, insect nesting wall, wetland biotope as well as fallow deer enclosure, eco-farm with rare breeds of domestic and farm animals and much more.
Lake Seeburg recreation area
Lake Seeburg, also known as the "Eye of the Eichsfeld" because of its round shape and its unique position as the largest naturally formed body of water in southern Lower Saxony, is an ideal place to stay and a starting point from which to explore the beautiful landscapes, geological features and historical sights of the Eichsfeld.
A large network of cycle routes as well as various nature trails, nature reserves, museums, cultural and natural monuments in the vicinity make the Seeburger See recreation area a particularly worthwhile excursion and holiday destination.

The name Gräflicher Landsitz Hardenberg is synonymous with upmarket gastronomy and hotels, a wide range of attractive events and first-class golfing and thus also with one of the most beautiful excursion destinations in Germany.

Hanstein Castle Ruin
The Hanstein - it is surrounded by legends and myths. It is considered the most beautiful castle ruin in central Germany and its unmistakable silhouette characterises the image of the Eichsfeld region. The builders took advantage of the rocky terrain there. The castle can be reached by a steep path from Bornhagen and is situated on a sandstone rock. The open location still gives us a wide view over the broad valley of the Leine, where most danger threatened in earlier times. Today, knights' games are held in the castle every year.
Wilhelm Busch Mill
"Her d The experiences of the two friends Wilhelm Busch and Erich Bachmann became the source for "Max and Moritz". "Some things really happened," Wilhelm Busch later recalled. The footbridge over which the tailor Böck walked and the house of the widow Bolte were in the immediate vicinity of the mill. Ebergötzen also had a teacher called Lämpel. Undeniably, "Max and Moritz" look similar to Wilhelm and Erich. The world-famous humourist Wilhelm Busch was an important painter, draughtsman and poet. He is considered a pioneer of comics, especially in German-speaking countries. Wilhelm Busch was given to the Ebergötz pastor Georg Kleine at the age of 9 for further education. Wilhelm Busch conquered the village with the son of the miller Erich Bachmann, who was the same age. The childhood friendship became a lifelong connection. "In the mill, which has always welcomed me kindly since childhood..." the two have renewed this special friendship time and again. In the low-ceilinged parlours you can still sense the atmosphere of the cosy gentlemen's evenings.
Einbeck
Einbeck, the picturesque half-timbered and beer town, situated between the Harz Mountains and the Weser, invites you on a journey back to the Middle Ages. As a member of the Hanseatic League, Einbeck was already a cosmopolitan trading town at the intersection of the long-distance trade routes. The Hanseatic town has been able to preserve much of its historic half-timbered townscape intact to this day. Einbeck's wealth can still be felt at every turn, with over 700 "breweries".
